This time of year has to be a favorite for me!!
The corn on the cob is perfectly sweet, the peaches ripe and ready for peach pie, tomatoes ready to pick, everything just seems to be freshly picked from the garden!
So in order to savor all this goodness, we've been taking advantage of it by making raspberry/peach jam, salsa, and the TRADITIONAL FREEZER CORN!
...Let the shucking begin...
{The Bird's met at our house at 7 am to get an early start}

...70 Dozen...
{A few years ago, we did 110 dozen, so we thought that wasn't too bad}

...Next, the boiling station...
{After it's all shucked, it heads over to Leland where it's boiled for 3 minutes}

...Cooling the Corn...
{Then off to Devin & Jake where they had coolers of cold water for the corn to cool off}

...Cutting the Corn...
{You take all the corn off with these nifty tools. (see picture below) Then bag it into freezer bags, ready to store, and ready to eat...so sweet and delicious!}
