One of the GREATEST days!

Hooray, hallelujah, Yippee, Amen!....Danny and Nancy finally got engaged!!
Oh my heavens, I've waited 3 years now for this day to come. I mean, I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything (toot, toot), but I played a part in hooking these two up, not just one time, but 3 times! Nancy is one of my best friends, so you can imagine my excitement of having her as a sister-in-law too! They are the perfect match and I am so happy for them! Now I can officially move Nancy on my blog from 'Friends' to 'Family'. (exciting huh?)

Best Christmas Mix

My friend Autumn talked about this album on her blog and it's now officially my favorite mix at the moment! So if you need a new Christmas Mix, this is definitely the one for you! It's beautiful and puts you in the Christmas Spirit!

Ode To Nice People

Can I just say how much the little things can make such a difference in a day!
Going to Costco these days is like the trip from H E double hockey sticks!
Presley is well aware of all the "tasting tables" and I hit every single one of them just to keep her happy!!
Paityn usually demands a little game of tag and we spend lots of time in the toy isles convincing her to talk to Santa about all her wants and wishes. (I love being able to pawn off those things to 'Santa')
So my point being, it's so nice when random people take the time to tell you your kids are cute (which is a good reminder while they're screaming) or just even make conversation and are friendly.
It makes a difference!!
It's a good reminder to me that I need to smile and be friendly to random people. You never know when even just a hello or smile could lift someone's spirit!
So thank you, you nice people out there!

The Ride Home From The Big Game

Setup: 9:00 at night. pitch dark outside. Presley asleep. I'm driving (Devin's tired, it's dark, and he just suffered from a bad loss = I'll take the wheel, move aside).

(out of the blue)Paity: So dad, how was the game?

Dev: It was good.

Paity: So like who won?

Dev: Utah. BYU didn't do good.

Paity: A-huh dad, they're good.

Maybe next year Cougars, maybe next year!

Let The Rivalry Begin!

Saturday is soon approaching, and that's right, it's the BYU/Utah game! You can start to feel a little bit of tension in the air and the rivalry begins! As you know, I married into the world's biggest BYU fans, but grew up going to U of U games with my dad since I was 8 years old. So I've had a little bit of an internal struggle these last few years deciding who to cheer for. I stood my ground for awhile, but after going to BYU games, watching BYU games, and traveling to BYU games, I must admit, I think I may be a BYU fan! (I feel like this is a bit like coming out of the closet) With that said, I do enjoy the whole rivalry thing so I helped my mom take a few things to Devin's parents and brothers yesterday. We took red balloons, red candy (hot tamales, kit kats, swedish fish, licorice& bag of red doritos) and we (I mean I) had some fun doing a little artwork on their car windows.

I love the idea of Leland driving around like this! It still makes me laugh!
He went to wash his car right when he made it home, I think he was humiliated!
Go Cougars!!

Rewind

For a little of 'History's sake' and because I often fall behind on blogging, I thought I'd post a few Halloween pics! This year we celebrated every ounce of Halloween!
First, the Halloween Party Nancy & Danny threw:
The funniest part was when Seth & Abbie showed up as polygamists too without anyone knowing! Thanks again Danny & Nancy!

Don't be jealous of these shoes! HOT, right?

Second, the Simpson Party!
And low and behold, we weren't the only ones with the polygamist idea either!! (what are the odds of that?!!) Thanks Nate & Meri!
Third, the party my Aunt Sherri threw with my family and cousins!
Thanks to Sherri for getting us all together! (shoot, no pictures!)

Fourth, thanks to the Sorenson family for letting us join in on their family party!
They've basically adopted us. :) We had so much fun carving pumpkins and eating yummy food!
Last, but not Least . . . Halloween
Paityn chose to be a FAIRY this year, and Presley was a WITCH! We had fun walking around with the Sonnenbergs. Paityn and Kanyon are starting to be quite the experts at the whole candy thing. Presley and Scarlett will find out fast I'm sure!

The End.

Going Private

I've now debated back and forth about going private now for a year! I've been totally conflicted because I love blog surfing and love to see what people are up to. I Love this whole blogging thing! Who knew keeping in touch could be so fun!! (Hence why it's taken a year to decide) But I've decided I'd rather be safe than sorry, so because of that, yes, I'm going private just like everyone else at the moment.
So you know what to do next, leave me your e-mail address, then you can continue to be posted on our exciting life! jk
Oh, and don't be shy, say hi! I love finding other people's blogs...who knows I've probably looked on your blog too!

My 4-year old big girl

Happy Birthday Paity-poo!

How time flies! Our little 6 lb 8 oz baby is now 40" tall and 35 lbs.

Paityn has always been a girl of many (big) words. Some of her favorite have been: sensible, fabulous, I'm coming my lady, splendid, and she'd use them ALL the time. It was almost like the word of the week!

Paityn loves: movies, playing with friends, singing, cousins, mac& cheese, chocolate (that's my girl!), BOOKS, her little sissy, dress up, "one soft & one hard taco" at Taco Bell, talking on the phone...

We can't imagine life without this little spunky, sassy, thoughful, intelligent little girl!

Almost Finished...."Two more weeks"!!!!!

Well since nearly late March, or early April, I started a project that I hoped to have completed by late August/early September; however, after nearly 40 change orders many of which were major items, it looks like I might be finished in the next couple weeks.
The city has set up a grand opening date for the 14th of November roughly and hopefully we'll have all our odds and ends tied up and the punchlist complete! It's been a long seven + months espcially with Jen and the girls up North since August. I've missed them like crazy and have been pushing like you know what to get this job finished.
The inside joke with my friends when they ask me how much longer it will take until I'm finished has been, "Two weeks!" Anyway, we really might be about two weeks away.... I can see the end of the tunnel. I hope you like the pics. Take care and Peace out!

And The Winner Is...

Well, not me! But close! I took 2nd place in our Ward's Chili Cookoff on Tuesday! You'd think, ahh, second place, you're the first loser. But coming from someone who never wins anything, I'll take it! Just in case you're in the chili mood, here's the recipe! (props to my mom)
Sweet Chili: Sandy Walker
1/2 lb cooked bacon
1 lb cooked hamburger
1/2 lb sausage
15 oz can baked beans
1 T worch sauce
1 large onion chopped (I used 1/2: and probably wouldn't put any if I made it for Devin)
1 T chili powder
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 C ketchup
1 T vinegar
1 large green pepper chopped
1 T brown sugar
1 lg 32 oz can tomato juice
Cook meats. Then add all ingredients.
Let Simmer.
Bake in oven at 350 for 1 hour.
Top with your favorite chili toppings!
I'm starting to think my blog is turning into a recipe book! :) Every event we have I talk about food, is that a problem??

Peak into Disneyland

We finally did it! Now, we can give ourselves a pat on the back for taking the kiddos to the Happiest Place on Earth! It was magical for most of the time, until you stood in line for an hour, but every ride was amazing to say the least! Paityn believed everything and anything she saw and Presley, well, she enjoyed snacking on churros and slushies!

Thanks to my parents and Abby for coming along and thanks to those baby swap passes, what a lifesaver! Stay tuned for some pics of Sea World!

Field Trip to The Red Barn

Today I went with Paityn on her Preschool Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch.
3 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Fence

Which one should I pick?...
Mrs. Robyn's Preschool Class
What a fun field trip! A fun hay-ride, picking out a pumpkin, and a donut! What more could a kid ask for!
