Vegas Road Trip

I would dare say I have never...

A. Laughed so hard my belly hurt

B. Wanted to win so bad at gambling...but walked out dead even

C. Enjoyed a car ride full of dancing and singing

D. Stayed up later and slept in longer

We took a road trip to see Devin's friend Brady get married in Vegas! (Car ride with no kids...I know, right?) The wedding was beautiful, Brady and Jen looked so happy and we had fun celebrating with them. (notice the potato martini pic below...brilliant idea!)

Thanks mom and dad for watching our kiddos!
And thanks Matt, Christie, Myles, and Devin for such a fun time!

{Note to self: Laugh until my belly hurts more often!}

Saving Money At The Grocery Store...

I have a confession to make...I spend WAY too much money at the darn grocery store! In my defense, I love to cook and I do make home-made meals for my family, but I just don't know how to shop smart and save money!! Plus, I end up going every other day or so to get something I forgot, then you know how it goes: you go to get one thing and end with at least five other things! Problem. So I was watching Oprah and there were 3 different chefs with 21 different meals that are cost-efficient and look really good! (I'll let you know when I try them out!) And they have the recipe and the grocery list online too!

Here's a few of the meals they suggested:

Greek Cinnamon Stewed Chicken with Blanched Greens
Creamy Pasta with Chicken, Kalamata Olives and Broccoli
Fuji Apple, Walnut and Herb Salad with Roasted Chicken
Proscuitto and Portobello Mushroom Wheat Pizza with Pesto
Chicken Fried Rice
Baked Nachos
Tropical Popcorn
Macaroni Sheperd's Pie
Slow-Cooked Barbecue Pork Shoulder
just to name a few...
(don't they make your mouth water)

So now I'm off for a fresh start on grocery shopping!
Check out this website if you want to try too!

    Relief Society Birthday Party

For the reminder about the Relief Society Birthday Dinner, I made little flags to stick into cupcakes to hand out at church!

    Definitely a very sweet reminder!

(even cuter standing into mini white cupcakes with pastel sprinkles...oh and did I mention the yummy coconut flavored frosting?!)

    Daily Inspiration

Those who know me, know I am completely inspired by creative people!

I have a lot of creative friends and enjoy looking at blogs that help my mind get some exercise! So I thought I'd share a few of my daily inspirations:

    My Recent Find

My sister called me last night and said she found this mirror on KSL for FREE!!
(Free things...what? Am I the only one who didn't know this?)

She told me I should go and pick it up, since the lady lived up the street from me ironically. (The lady said people were calling like crazy, but she said whoever picked it up first could have it...so you know I rushed over right then!)

With a little paint, and fixing up, I have the perfect spot for it!
    I love fun, unique things!

    What the...

Gosh dang it! I got hooked again to this show just to be disappointed in the end!
Why I waste hours of my precious time watching (what I think) is two people falling in love, I don't know, but it gets me every time!
I did have to laugh hysterically when Devin got home last night and was making fun of me for watching it, but sat down while I watched the last 20 minutes of the rose ceremony. He thinks he's quite the narrator and was driving me crazy with his comments like "what a baby" (when he was crying on the balcony), and "what a girl", etc. So I promised him I'd watch the 'After the Rose Ceremony' in the other room. So I started it and within 5 minutes, I can faintly hear it on in the other room. Next thing I know Devin yells "Jen, get in here...what is going on?" Sure enough, Devin wanted to see what happened next so we stayed up until midnight finishing the show.
Quite honestly, I can't decide what to think about Jason! I think it was totally rude what he did to Melissa, but I really was a fan of Jillian all along so I was more bummed out when she got cut a few weeks ago! Now all of my conversations today are based on the Bachelor, and I'm even taking the time to write a post about it, I think I need to just drop it, but I'm just wondering if you watched it too and what you thought?? Who were you a fan of? (And I promise to stop wasting my time watching it, well unless Jillian is the next Bachelorette) :)
