First Day of First Grade

The first day of first grade was an exciting day!

I'm excited to get back on some sort of a schedule. Although I feel like it will take some time to get in the groove of things!

Paityn has been looking forward to ALL things First Grade, especially getting to have lunch at school. I've heard some of the kids talk about how they don't like some of the school food, but Paityn looks through the menu with pure excitement! (I laugh because I know that will change) She thinks mashed potatoes and meat with gravy sounds delicious!

Here's my BIG little First Grader on her first day:

By this point, she's giving me the face "seriously mom, are you done taking pictures??"

We were all so excited to see her after school and hear about how her day went!

Of course in Paityn fashion, she told us every detail!

From this point forward, she will be in all day school until she moves away to college! (sigh) It's exciting and fun to watch her grow! She is constantly surprising me with the things she does! She's such a special part of our family and we love the little person she is!

and carried Paityn off to Kindergarten today!

The bus driver asked if I wanted a picture of her on the bus, I couldn't resist

And let's not forget this lovely lady.

Although she isn't technically old enough for Preschool, a few of my neighbors are doing a swap play group/preschool twice a week. So as far as she's concerned, she's in PRESCHOOL (and trust me, don't tell her otherwise)!

So of course, on her first day {Monday} I had to take her picture too!

So WE survived! I was so nervous the night before Paityn went to school. I never rode a bus going to school so the unknown scared me a little. Will she make it to her class ok? Will she be scared? I asked her if she wanted me to take her the first day, but she said she wanted to take the bus.

I didn't cry at the bus stop, but my heart sunk just a little. Seriously, how did we get to this point so quickly! Public School. It's almost like I had to let go a little. She's getting bigger! I love watching her learn and grow, but each day that passes by is gone and I can't get it back. She's such a good girl! So sweet, spiritual, funny, blunt, cautious, obedient little girl. I hope she never changes!

Paityn's preschool teacher this year is Mrs. Holman.

I can't believe next year she'll start Kindergarten.

Devin said the other day:

"man, if the next 5 years goes as fast as these 5 years has gone, she'll be 10!" Seriously, more and more I look at her and think "she's getting so big!" {Tear}

She seems to really like it this year, she's got lots of friends and more of a social life than I do!
