Memorial Day Weekend in Review

Well, it was another great Memorial Weekend!! We crammed in a lot of fun family & friend time over the weekend!
First, Saturday. Devin, my sister Erin, and I ran the annual Live wElle Race in Springville! It's such a fun race to run, and has an especially good cause. Devin of course ran with ease, while Erin and I took the caboose. ;) Not on purpose that is, we really just had a fun time laughing at ourselves and catching up! Plus, it doesn't matter how fast you run the race as long as you finish, right?!

Then we rushed off to get ready for Leland's surprise party! The theme to his 65th birthday was after a really sweet poem about a "tree". So everyone wore green, we had 65 green balloons, an amazing tree cake with leave cupcakes, and we all bought him a really pretty tree for his yard. We all had a bbq and then the kids swam. It was fun being with the fam!
Happy 65th Leland! We love you!

After that, we went to a fun bbq with some friends at Myles & Rachel's place.
Sunday Paityn went to sleep over at the cabin and had a lot of fun with bama & papa and the fam.

Monday. Devin went over to the annual Veterans service with his family while I stayed at home with Presley while it rained. It was a nice day, I stayed inside and made bread and then we went to lunch. That night, we went to a nice bbq with Steve & Meghan and some friends and Devin even rode a horse. :)

Tuesday, we went to Devin's cousin Natalie's wedding in Manti where Devin & Danny sang a song at the luncheon. (I wish I had it recorded to share~they did such a nice job) Well, there you have it. Our novel Memorial Day Weekend! I mainly just had to document our weekend for once. :)

"Milk" & Dev[i]n" Boston Street Sign

A tribute to my friend Myles Peterson. "Milk" was a nickname I made up for Myles back in high school and it stuck since then, so I thought it was pretty funny to find this cross street in Boston, MA which had both of our names on it. Have fun driving to South Carolina my friend!

Sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa Walker

My mom and dad have been wanting to take Paityn to the cabin for awhile now, so they asked if she could stay the night tonight and then they'd bring her home tomorrow. She was excited about it so we got everything packed and ready to go. I said 'go give dad a kiss and tell him bye'. So she did and as she walked back to me, her lower lip was quivering and I said 'what's wrong honey?' She was so sad to be leaving her mom and dad. She literally had tears running down her face and said 'I'm just going to miss you guys'. So I kept telling her that she didn't have to go and she could stay with mom and dad, but she insisted that she wanted to go. It was just the sweetest thing ever! She has never hesitated going anywhere without us, in fact, I think she prefers it! :) But I literally was holding back the tears and Devin kept telling her he loved her a million times! The second she saw my parents she was so excited to go and I've since called her (a few times) and she couldn't be more happier.
Just glad to know that she actually misses us a time or two!

Isn't this the truth?!

So funny and true! I got this off my cousin Megan's blog. It's funny how you can totally stay up on everyone by reading their blogs...even your friend around the corner. ;) The new age of keeping in touch!

Enjoying the Outdoors

I've fallen a little behind on the 'ol blog, but here are a few pictures of us enjoying the outdoors!
Here's Paity riding her scooter with a little help from dad:

Next, let's fly a kite. Paityn & Devin's FIRST TIME! Who knew a $1 Dora kite could be so much fun! It kept us all busy for an hour or so, until it was Paityn's turn to hold the kite and we said "don't let go of the kite" so what would a 3 year-old do.....LET GO!! Bye kite, until next time.

Grandpa & Grandma Walker taking the kids to see the horses! I've probably taken the same walk, to see the same horses at least 100 times! I have so many good memories going to see the horses with my Grandpa Walker and cousins! Now my kids get to enjoy my childhood favorite! Watch out for road apples!

Our favorite part of being outdoors...laying on the grass and catching the breeze!

Stats of our little 4 month old

Well, I guess she's almost 5 months now, but we had her four month check up a week ago and here are a little stats on Presley:

Weight: 13 lbs 14 oz (43%)

Height: 25 inches (64%)

Head circum: 16 1/4 in (51%)

What she's up to:

lots of smiling, eating rice cereal (not liking it though), moving around a little by kicking, arching her back, laughing a little, hair is getting longer (especially in the back), loves the bath tub, big blue eyes, sleeping better, easy easy going! Can't believe it's been 4 months already. We just love her and she's just the sweetest addition!

"D" is for Paityn

The other day we were driving in the car and up on the hill was the lite up "D" and Paityn said "Look R is for Paityn!" Not only is it funny that she thought it was a R, but P A I T Y N doesn't even have a D or an R in it! Not to mention the fact that in her little mind, she truly believes that there should be a big letter on a hill in representation of her, our little princess. Gotta love her sassy little personality.
