Our Family Will Miss President Hinckley

Like all of you, our family will also miss our beloved Prophet President Hinckley! It's all seemed a little surreal and probably will for awhile. I just can't imagine not seeing him at conference waving his cane. Watching the funeral today was so touching and really gave me time to reflect on what an impact he has had on me and our family! I remember hearing the 6 Be's for the first time when I was a teenager and wanting to be a better person. I remember him telling us to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year and promising us blessing in our homes and lives. I barely finished in time and truly felt the spirit more in my life. I will always remember watching him and his sweet wife walk hand in hand together and thinking that was the kind of marriage I wanted! I know that as little as Paityn may be, she always remembered him in her prayers anytime she prayed. We loved our Prophet and will miss his sweet smile, his sense of humor, and the great example he was to us!

Why do I love thee...

Let me count they ways..
Yes, you would think that because it's a New Year and I just had a BaBy, that saying NO to this long time friend would be easy, but no no no....self control I tell myself! Why do I have to pick up a Symphony bar at the store and tell myself that I'll just have a little square each day, and then an hour later selfishly eat the whole bar! I will never know, but just in case you see me on the Biggest Loser one of these days, remind me that it just started with a little square! :)

A look back! 5 years strong, and many more to come...

I just wanted to throw a shout out to my wife of 5 years & 3 months +!! We've had a lot of great times together these past years. This was us at the Boston Red Sox Baseball Park in September '06. Love ya babe!

Presley's Baby Blessing

Presley was blessed on January 6th by her dad. Devin gave a beautiful blessing and it was nice to have our family and friends there. It was really sweet to see my little brother Kramer be apart of the circle for the first time. The dress that she wore is a family antique and is 107 years old. You'd hardley know that it's really that old by looking at it, it's so gorgeous! All of the girls in the bird family have been blessed in it and it's a special tradition. We then went back to our house and had a nice lunch. Thanks to those who brought such yummy food. It was just a really nice day!

Hannah Montanna's Biggest Fans

It's now become a daily ritual for Devin and Paityn to sing the song "Ready Set Don't Go" with Billy Ray Cyrus & Miley (Hannah Montanna) every night! They were on Oprah a few weeks ago and we still have it saved on our DVR, so every night those two sing a little duet together! 'Devin sings the boy part and Paityn sings the girl part'...as Paityn would put it. And Paityn makes sure Devin's clear on that. It's actually such a sweet song especially between a father and daughter. Check it out if you haven't heard it before. Oh, and take note of their microphones.
(BILLY RAY:)She's gotta do what she's gotta do and I've gotta like it or not
Shes got dreams to big for this town And she needs to give 'em a shot
Wherever they are
(MILEY:)Looks like I'm all ready to leave Theres nothin' left to pack
Aint no room for me in that car Even if she asks me to tag along
Gotta gotta be strong
Gotta gotta be strong
(CHORUS)
I'm at the startin line of the rest of my life As ready as I've ever been
Got the hunger and the stars in my eyes The prize is mine to win
She's waitin' on my blessins `Fore she hits that open road,
Baby get ready,
Ohh Im ready
Get set,Don't go.

Looks like things are fallin in place
Feels like theyre fallin apart.
I'm paintin this big ol' smile on my face To hide my broken heart.
If only she knew
This is where you don't say What you want so bad to say
This is where I want to But I wont get in the way
Of her and her dream And spreadin her wings
I'm ready to flyyyyy!

(CHORUS)

Lemme go now I'm ready
Hmmmm Dont go
Ill be alright Ill be okkkkkKnow that IllBe thinkin of youEach and every dayyyyy
Shes gotta do what shes gotta do
lemme go now
Shes gotta do what shes gotta do
I gotta do what I gotta do Ill be alright
Shes gotta do what shes gotta do

Prima Ballerina

Paityn had her first

dance performance (in class) a few weeks ago and it was pretty cute watching her do her routine. Devin swears he could teach her how to spin in a circle just as good, I beg to differ. :) She watches her teacher so good and has picked up on a few things. It's funny how it takes them awhile to learn how to do a plie. You'd think it would be easy to bend your knees, but at first Paityn would just stick out her bum. So funny! It's so fun watching them learn and grow!
